Today, we carried on discussing information needed to fully understand the novel Lord of the Flies. Specifically, we discussed themes (human nature; need for civilization; innocence and loss of innocence; illusion and reality; power; fear of the unknown; the indifference of nature; blindness and vision; leaders and followers; survival), and terms (utopia, dystopia, allegory, archetype, microcosm, atavism, primal, innate).
